Mp3 files can be transferred from iTunes to an iPod or another mp3 device by loading the songs manually or having them automatically load.
Manual:
You might want to manage songs on your iPod manually if you want to use your iPod with more than one computer, or if your iTunes library has more music than your iPod can hold.
Connect your iPod to your computer. When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes window (under Devices), select it. If the Summary pane is not showing, click the Summary tab. Select "Manually manage music." (If you have an iPod that displays video, the checkbox says "Manually manage music and video.")
Click Music (below Library, on the left side of the iTunes window) and then drag songs and playlists to your iPod.
Automatic:
Connect your iPod to your computer. When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it. If the Summary pane isn't showing, click the Summary tab. Make sure that "Manually manage music" is not selected. (If you have an iPod that displays video, the checkbox says "Manually manage music and video.")
Click the Music tab and do one of the following:
1. To automatically update your iPod with all the songs and playlists in your library, select "Sync music" and then select "All songs and playlists." iTunes loads the songs and playlists in your iTunes library onto your iPod, and deletes songs from your iPod that aren't in your library.
2. To automatically update your iPod with only certain playlists, select "Sync music" and "Selected playlists," and then select the playlists you want synchronized.
If you connect and update your iPod, and then add songs to your iTunes library that you want to add to your iPod, choose "File" and then "Sync iPod."
You can synchronize (automatically update) your iPod with only one computer at a time. To use your iPod with more than one computer, set up iTunes to manage songs manually. You also might want to manage songs manually if your iTunes library has more music than your iPod can hold.
If you want to sync only items in your library that have a checkmark next to them, click the Summary tab and select "Only sync checked items."
How do I burn AudioCaseFiles content to a CD with iTunes?
You can burn an audio CD or an mp3 CD through iTunes. An audio CD will only hold as many songs as will fit in your CD's minute length. A mp3 CD will hold many more songs but they will remain in mp3 format, which is not compatible with most home or car stereos, but will play on all computers.
Audio CD:
You will need: a disc drive that can burn CDs, a blank CD and an iTunes playlist containing the songs you want on the CD.
To create a playlist go to the "File" menu and selecting "New Playlist." The untitled playlist will appear on the left menu with other playlists and music options. Then, on that same left side of iTunes, scroll up to the top of the menu and click on "Music" under the "Library" heading. This should make all of your music visible. Then simply click on the AudioCaseFiles mp3s you want to burn and drag them to the playlist.
To create an audio CD go to "iTunes" and select "Preferences", then click "Advanced" and then click "Burning." Select audio CD as the disc format. Click OK.
Select the playlist containing the songs you want to burn to the CD, and make sure all the songs you want to include on the CD have a checkmark beside them. Click Burn CD (at the bottom of the iTunes window) and insert a blank disk.
If the playlist contains more songs than will fit on the CD, iTunes burns only the number of songs that fit on one disc, and then asks you to insert another disc to continue burning the remaining songs.
It might take several minutes to burn an audio CD. You can cancel the burn by clicking the X next to the progress bar (but if you're using a CD-R disc, you won't be able to use it again).
MP3 CD
Before you burn a CD, you need to create a playlist containing the songs you want on the CD.
You can store more than 12 hours of music, or about 150 songs, on a 650 MB CD-R disc. If you plan to play the CD only on your computer, you can use a CD-RW disc instead. To create an mp3 CD go to "iTunes" and select "Preferences", then click "Advanced" and then click "Burning." Select "MP3 CD" as the disc format, and then click OK. Select the playlist containing the songs you want to burn to the CD, and make sure all the songs you want to include have a checkmark beside them. Click the "Burn MP3 CD" button (at the bottom of the iTunes window). Insert a blank disc and click Burn MP3 CD again. If the playlist contains more songs than fit on a CD, iTunes burns only the number of songs that fit on one disc, and then asks you to insert another disc to continue burning the remaining songs.
